Blacked out 2021 TRD OR/Sport grille any body?

Greetings,

I would like to see if anybody has blacked out their stock 2021 OR/Sport grille? - I would like to try that before buying the TRD Pro grille. I just bought a white 2021 TRD OR.

There was a post awhile ago about this … you can’t really black out everything on the grill . Sensor is behind the Toyota emblem now .

FYI. A rattle can painted grill chips very easily from road related debris (e.g. rocks, stones, etc.)

 

The dark gray OEM color of the grille is OK. The problem is the chrome Toyota emblem in the center, and there isn't really a good solution for that. People are trying things like vinyl overlays, etc., but those don't seem to work out.

 

I put vinyl over mine with no issues.

This is light smoke headlight tint. Went on easy.

 

Sprayed mine with plasti-dip and replaced it after a year...faded and chipped and looked like garbage

 

I hope Toyota reads these forums and offers a factory blacked-out emblem next year. I would buy it as a retrofit.

 

Has anyone tried removing it and replacing it with one from a 2016/17 model? No TSS, but you could black it out.

 

I will let the emblem as it is. Is just that I don’t like the gray color of the grille itself.

 

Couldn't agree more. I'll probably be selling mine once my heritage grill comes in.

 

I'm not sure about the 16/17 but the 19 eblem mounts totally different than the 20. I made it work but required cutting the back of the emblem and drilling some small holes in grill behind the emblem to mount it.
