Anyone on here know where Toyota is currently standing with their productions on Tacomas? My local dealerships are depleted of them.

It's not just Tacomas. I shared this photo of my local dealership from Tuesday in another thread.

This lot is normally completely full with 3-4 rows of new vehicles. Now it is just one row of new and used.

    Nothing yet, lift coming soon!
I have been dealing with this for a while as it relates to my tacoma order placed in January. It was supposed to be in on the 21st, then the 25th of May. It got jumped back to the 7th of July!!!! then yesterday I am told that it is built and will be "in port" on the 9th of June.

I don't know what is going on but my local Toyota house has the same inventory issues. We have all seen and read about the computer chip issues facing manufacturers, that could be the issue. I was also told that there was labor issues on a railhead in California that was holding up distribution of already built vehicles, which is what they say impacted the delivery of my new rig. I don't know what to believe at this point, but these supply chain issues are real and no matter where the bottleneck is upstream, the downstream impact on the consumer (and dealers) is being felt now in a big way.

I know the chips are impacting supply a lot, I picked up my truck last week and only got one key, along with a note that said Toyota would contact me for my second key when they have access to more chips for production. Sales guy said it was the first truck he had seen that way.

All cars are having this issue. This problem may last like this for the next 3-4 years supposingly. The other day, Ford contacted my buddy who has a first gen raptor roush. He paid $50,000 back in 2016. Ford offered him $55,000 last week!!!! He didn't take the deal because he is screwed because he will have to pay the high market price for any truck right now.

Our local dealers are looking bare too. I got a really good offer for my truck from the Toyota dealer, but there’s nothing to trade it for.

So I traded my 2017 for a new 2021 because they offered so much for trade in. Just had to select one coming in on allocation so just had to wait 2 weeks or so for it to show up

Pretty interesting.. ideally the dealership would rather have a new instead of a pre owned vehicle huh?

I was at the dealer over the weekend for an inspection and oil change, and was browsing the lot shooting the shit with the salesman. Not sure how true this is, but he mentioned the company that produces the transfer cases went out of business and Toyota is trying to source a new one. Take this info with a grain of salt

I call BS on what that Salesman told you. I do know that Borg-Warner makes the Transfer Cases for the Tundra and if I recall about six months ago they had a pretty major fire at their plant where they built TC's for the Tundra and F-150 which I'm sure has hurt production, on top of all the pandemic supply chain problems which they are likely dealing with.

I'm pretty sure that the TC's in the Taco are made by a company called Aisin which makes Transmissions and TC's primarily for Toyota and I'm pretty sure other makes as well. A quick Google search does not show that they have not gone out of business.
