Use caution here. Was the GFCI slaving the rest of the branch circuit?

The AC is on the next to last outlet of the circuit. The GFCI was the first outlet

The 30 amp goes to my camper

"IF" the rest of the circuit was being protected by the GFCI, you may have created another problem. Depends on where the other outlets are?

    This sounds reasonable.

There are 7 total outlets on the circuit. The garage is a 4 car garage with a wall in the middle. On the photo with the breaker panel it's #7 with the M sticker

So, the other 7 outlets are in the garage?

Garage outlets "should" be GFCI protected. This is a "Life Safety" issue.

So add the GFCI back and get an appliance extension cord? The next closest outlet on another circuit is about 20' away.

There is a separate 20 amp, 240 volt outlet right next to where the AC is plugged in but I can't convert it down* right?

    *Shouldn't even consider/attempt

Or run a new dedicated circuit?

I would definitely say to restore the GFCI circuit back to original design.

If the 240v circuit only feeds one single outlet, then this would be your best resolution. Depends on how you feel about rearranging the circuit inside the load center. #2 choice would be to use an appliance extension cord. #3 choice would be to void the warranty and remove the GFCI from the cord set.

As it is supposed to be.

As stated above put the GFI back if you want.
It's your world. Garage circuit is supposed to be protected. Shit happens in garage like a kitchen.

The ac runs fine on an unprotected circuit?

It does run fine on the unprotected circuit but I'll reinstall the GFCI this evening. I'd rather have it than not.

This. Technically, any large load inrush/major appliance should not be plugged into a GFCI. Some local code writers are total idiots.

First thing I would try is removing that Chinese receptacle/USB combo outlet and see if it still trips the GFCI.
Next thing would be to read up on using a GFCI in combination with that AFCI plug on the AC, especially the part about the neutral wiring.
