I keep my magazines with the ammo that goes in them. I have a number of .50BMG and 80mm mortar cans and I have them marked with the calibers within. I keep my .38/357 in one (a couple of speed loaders but no mags), .41 Magnum in another can, 9mm in another, with magazines for two different pistols, .40S&W and 10mm in a third, with magazines for both pistols, .45Auto with mags for my 1911 in another one, and the bigger cans are for my rifle and shotgun ammo, with the respective rifle magazines in the cans. That way, when I get ready for a trip to the range, I look in one place for ammo and mags. Of course, I keep a couple of pistol magazines loaded and in a pocket inside the safe door, for quick access for home defense, and then there's the cocked and locked pistol I have with me.

Ammo in cans with desiccant. Mag are in a locked metal cabinet. Magazines are marked as to which firearm they are for.

For instance I have a couple of G21 mags that aren’t reliable in my 21 but work in my 30. Likewise some 1911 mags perform better in one or another pistol.

I bought a decent safe from Harbor Freight just for ammo, mags and other accessories that way I can get more guns in my gun safe.72373E70-CD9D-4371-B101-9B33E2AF043C.jpg8C4E10AA-BB69-4C34-8DDC-1613353BC322.jpg
