Hi all.. great that warm weather is here and we can get out wheeling. I've got some questions about TPMS sensors. I have the SR with steel wheels and I've read they have different sensors than the ones for alloy wheels. So, I picked up a set of Off Road alloys for the truck.

What is the part number for the right sensors for these wheels? They seem to be pretty cheap in sets of 4 on ebay.

Once I have the right sensors installed on the wheels and get some new tires mounted up, and then get the sensors set up to work - can I then interchange my steel wheels with the off road wheels and have the sensors work? IOW would both sets of wheels/sensors be working with the truck no matter which set I have on the truck?

How long do the batteries last in these sensors? And is it possible to replace the batteries?

    Thanks for you help.

You can find the part number from any of the online OEM parts vendors.

I use these. They come preprogrammed with ID. You will need to program ECU with ID.

So since the sensors have unique IDs then the TMPS computer would have to be reprogrammed for the different set of wheels/sensors, every time I changed wheels.

And the p/n for the stock ones appear to be 42607-04020. There is another part number listed 42607-06030.

I also had a large tire shop in Tempe that sells high end stock TRD and other wheels tell me that the sensors are the same for my truck.
Does the spare rim for a TRD off road take the same sensor? or do sensors even come on spare wheels?

    Vlady - those won't work for a 2019 Tacoma - that's what I come up with.

If I get TPMS sensors that are programmed vehicle specific, then all I would need to do when swapping out a set of wheels/sensors is to use a TPMS relearn tool to add the IDs to the TMPS ECU.

Guess I could have a tire shop do that for me.

    none yet
Or you can get blank ID sensors and have the IDs cloned to you current set so the truck doesn't know /care what set is on

Do you mean "clone my current sensor ID's" to the new blank sensors? Can a tire shop do that?

These are the ones I got off eBay. When I had my offroad wheels I swapped the factory ones to my SCS wheels.

Sold them with the factory sensors , and picked up this set off of eBay for my Volk TE37’s.

I wrote the sensor id’s down before I had them installed and got the Carista App thing off Amazon and linked them all up to the truck myself.

    Hope this helps.
