Auto trans shifter ‘boot’? Issue

    The rubber or vinyl in the console shifter is all out of wack and making it difficult to shift. It partially pops out and I have to push or wiggle it to be able to move the shifter to the right gear. Anyone else have this issue and is it going to another expensive Toyota issue fix?(already had the air intake pump issue fixed twice and just had to spend 1500 to replace the totally rusted out fuel module/sender and fuel pump). I realize it’s a 2008 but tired of these Toyota design defects and hoping this isn’t another one...love my truck but wondering if I should have gone with a Ford :(. Thank you so much for any advice you can offer!
