I can't say if the demand has gone up for Tacoma particularly, but Toyota used to make 1/4 million of them a year, and I doubt they are making even close to half of that number currently. So people have to fight tooth and nail to get whatever Tacoma Toyota builds in limited quantity right now, hence the high price.

Definitely a slow down due to the shortage of chips. I went to my closest dealer yesterday and they had 7 tacomas, 2 got sold while I was looking to get an allocation for a TRDOR with adv package. only 1 new Tundra on their lot.

Had a 2021 offroad (2k miles) sell for cash to a dealership recently for $41.6k.

Saw it the next day on their lot for $46k, it did not last long

San Marcos Toyota (Texas 78666), seems like all that is left is 2wd sports.

It's ridiculous Either wait to buy one or hold onto the one you have.

If you don’t need it, can’t find a legitimate use for it while you’re out of country, and won’t be looking to replace it stateside in the next 2+ years, start with Carvana, Vroom, Carmax and see what they offer. Then take that offer to the local dealers and see who offers more. You might get more with a local private sale, but that’s a process some are unwilling to do.

It's not just Tacoma's. Every vehicle manufacturer and maker of power sports equipment is suffering. The plant that supplies semi conductors for what seems like every manufacturer was hit by a natural disaster. It's left new vehicle sellers without stock, and driven the used market to stupidly inflated prices.

That could mean a few different things, but it was a V6 4x4 OffRoad w/ the tech package and LED headlights. No other addons other than the TRD OffRoad Package. Color doesn't make a difference in price afaik
