    doublecab, V6, shortbed.

I read about the transmission shudder issue and when I test drove it, it didn't seem like an issue. Now that I've had it for about a month, it's annoying AF.

I think I should've got the Honda Ridgeline Sport.

I drove my 2001 Tacoma SR5, xtracab from 3-6-2001 to 5-3-2021 with 584,258 miles (original motor). Up until about 8 months ago there was no issues. At time of sale, #3 piston was bad, transmission starting to slip, A/C compressor went out about 2 years ago. Sold it for $1500.

    peace

The Ridgeline is the far superior truck because Karen she would have complained in the focus group if there was something that was out of line. Now fucking Kevin in the 3rd gen Tacoma focus group, well he's a yes man every word is yes, ask him if you can sleep with his wife the answer is yes, if you ask him about the transmission in the tacoma the answer is yes it's fine. the rear speaker bias yes it's fine

warranty claim that and see if there is anything that can be done. At the least it will start the documentation process so any future fix/tsb/etc will be applied.

Yes, mainly when coasting to a stop from about 3rd gear and taking off from stop sign. I haven't taken it to a dealer yet.

Interesting, obviously i have no experience with this. Yeah, take the truck to the dealer, hopefully they will help you out.
The good thing is if you trade your taco, you will get most of your money back, if not all.

Dealer visit to address the issue . Might have a faulty fuel pump . I would also try different gas I find the truck runs better with mid grade fuel .

Really depends on what he paid for it. It's OC so it could be a $50k SR5

Seems to be a variation of how these tacoma's perform. My buddies 2019 trd has some very minor shudder at low rpm in the 6th od while my 2020 sr5 has nothing of the sort, plus i can confirm my 3.5 v6 runs like crap on anything above 87 octane. I would take it in, and be inquiring to toyota why the case.

Going to take it in tomorrow.

Also, it seems to shift fine when cold, after it warms up the shuddering starts...

Since it's trans related, ask them to verify (though the correct procedures) that the trans fluid level is correct. Doesn't matter if it's your problem or not. There are more that come low from the factory than should.

Idk, first service visit, supposedly all the fluid levels were claimed to be checked in my truck....they were all fine up to spec.

Claimed being the key word. Hopefully you have an honest shop and they did so. With someone who actually knew how to.

Fluid checks are done by the just promoted wash boys in many cases, not the ASE guys. Along with your fluid changes, tire pressures, rotations, brake inspections, etc. IE all the simple stuff in your 'free' services.

I'm still more of a trust but verify type. I'm glad I can verify via dipstick on my truck.

The dealer that is about 2 miles away has a 3.8 google rating, going to take my chances there, it's not the dealer where I bought the truck.

    A few.
U might have to go for a ride with the tech to show whats its doing. I have my doubts that its trans related because using 93 octane fuel causes it to be less noticable in my truck. I had my fuel pump recall done back in November. After I had the tsb 92-20 I didnt notice it for a while but it gradually returned as the truck relearned my driving habits.

I only started having that "shutter" after lifting it and put 295/75s on, stock with 84k miles the truck drove really well.
