I'm way past due for new headlights. Not the bulbs for those of you who will probably get smart but the casing:)

Does anyone have any recommendations on what and where to buy new housings? I know OEM can be expensive but I'm also seeing aftermarket seem to have leaking issues.

    Thoughts?

    I'm rolling with a 2010 DCSB.

As for the thread recommendation, thanks and I have seen that thread. It doesn't apply in this case as I'm not looking to upgrade the lighting. I'm looking to replace the housing.

Your best bet - if you're looking for a quality headlight that resists oxidation, doesn't leak and puts light where its supposed to - is still OEM by far. The part numbers are in the thread that's already been shared. Aftermarket lights are cheaper for a reason and people keep finding that out. In summary, if you just want an inexpensive headlight that looks cool, buy aftermarket. If you want something that actually works and lasts, buy OEM.

Top tip: Keep your eye out in the classifieds for a used set. They pop up all the time from folks who downgrade to aftermarket headlights for the appearance.

Spend the cash and get some TRD Pro headlights. OEM plus looks 'aftermarket' over normal stock housings.

Thanks for the input guys! I'll look around and see where I can find some OEM. Do you guys happen to have any recommendations on the where?

The source in the thread has a decent price. I comparison shopped other places and it seemed to beat them all, for new oem that is.

I have had luck in the past using TYC branded lights from RockAuto.com

They are "OEM equivalents" and what most body shops would go to first to save money instead of OEM. I always used UV protectant on the lenses to help delay/prevent oxidation of them and have had pretty good luck in regard to light dispersion and longevity. OEM is going to be better, but not by a landslide in this instance.

YMMV, but that's my .02 anyway!

As others said, OEM is probably the best for light output and quality. But after 10 years, mine were yellow, cracked and ugly af.

I have the Tacomabeast/Spyder headlights and I really like them. They look good and show no signs of aging or leaking after more than 2 years. I paid like 250 for both using some credit card points. Light output isn't bad, just not as good as OEM. I put some ultra bright halogens in em.

OEM is gonna be cost quite a bit more. Another suggestion I have is to get a custom retrofit job like Kustom 54. It's pricey but you can get a custom look and I'm pretty sure they use OEM housings. You can choose all your color/bulb options.

I just installed new Alpharex Pro headlights on my '06, and absolutely love them. Great light output, and I now have DRL (which my model year did not have).

I can't believe I'm going to disagree with Colton, but I am. This will probably be the only time I'll disagree with him.

I detail cars and have had two Camry's come through my place in the last few months that were wrecked and repaired with "CAPA Certified" aftermarket replacement headlights - among other things. Both were repaired less than a year ago and both had oxidation starting on both headlights. I'm not sure the exact brand of CAPA Certified lights they were, but I was totally unimpressed with the quality. Just my 2 cents.

Let me guess. A significant increase in light output immediately in front of the vehicle?

Out of the box, yes. After adjustment to the x-axis, much better.

Check am-autoparts, factory looking and ten year garantee for a decent price.

    WHY I OUGHTA... :smash: :D

But seriously like I said YMMV. I used Chemical Guys Jet Seal Protectant (full disclosure nowhere on it does it say that it's okay for plastic so... :notsure:) and applied it about every 6 months to the lens faces on my TYC housings when I retrofitted my Tacoma's headlights (for the 5th time). They lasted clean about 7 years before you could start to see some peeling/fading form at the top of them. I figure that's about that honest life I could expect out of an OEM housing as well before I start to see the years add up. The only issue they did have was that the turn signal lens started to bubble/melt right where the bulb was which was a known issue. It didn't help that I had a higher wattage bulb in there too though.

There is truly no replacement for OEM, but if someone's not going that route I figure they may as well purchase something that will at least have OEM-ish quality and light output.

All great input, y'all!! I had a look around for the OEM lights and found a couple of sights and pricing across the sights is similar within a few bucks. The difference comes in for shipping! I've seen shipping anywhere from 120 to 75 which would put the cost at around 550!! What's odd is I could save some money by getting just the housing but I can only find the housing for the right side smoked lights. I really don't want the chrome lights.

At this price, I'm really kind of tempted by the Tacomabeast headlights.

Sounds like @whiteknight4x4 hasn't experienced any issues. Anyone know if any issues on these? Are these a simple drop in replacement?

    Thanks again!!

Tacomabeast lights will give you good looks, but poor performance compared to OEM.
