Having an issue with my AC and due to my schedule lately its hard to set appointments.

    What ive noticed
-at a stop: runs barely a few degrees cooler than with AC off
-while moving: moderately cooler, but not cold (seems like a condenser issue?)
    -Compressor clicks on
-can hear intermittent hissing in vents when AC is on. No unusual smells or other suspicious noises.
-condensation is draining from tube by passenger front tire
    -heat works fine
-checked some fuses in fuse box, AC is good, not sure if theres one for fans?
-occassionally but uncommonly, squirrel cage doesnt want to kick in and needs a halfassed slap under the glovebox to turn on.
-no check engine lights or other mechanical/electrical issues known

Anyone more familiar getting any ideas? Sounds like the majority of components are under the dash so wanted to see if anyone knows what it is before i spend half a weekend taking it apart

I'm having similar issues on my 2012, and working on taking it to the shop to have it looked at and fixed "permanently."

A mechanic recharged it, and used leak-stop. It held cold for a few weeks, then I head the hissing again, and it lost the cold air. I had to take the truck on a 5 hour- each way- drive this past weekend, so I took a chance and recharged it myself with AC Pro can, and it has been holding for the last few days. I don't expect it to last forever, but its staying cold until I can workout time in my work schedule to take it in again and a more trusted mechanic take a look.

You could try recharging it with AC Pro, and if it doesn't stay cold, and you hear the hissing again, you for sure have a leak. You're taking a chance with it, but it might be a cheap fix, or at least hold you over until you can get it properly diagnosed. I don't know where you are, but in Southern California, its starting to get hot enough that I don't want to be driving around without AC if I can help it at all.

I think ultimately though, the AC is best left to professionals (i don't know if you qualify or not), and if you want a "permanent" fix, you'll end up having to take it in to a shop with the right equipment and knowledge to properly diagnose and fix it.

Its the r1234yf freon (thanks obama) so doubt ill find the stuff in stores. If its electrical and under the dash or hood its within my ability, but ill avoid having to break into refrigerant lines and let a shop do that. But if it stands out to the more experienced and theyre like "oh yeah its this part, definitely, check the pins on this set of cables"

It wasnt a slow loss either, like a leak. Cant recall but i think it just happened overnight one day. It hasnt gotten worse thats for sure.
