srs problem

hi I've been stalking this site for awhile before joining I see a lot of talent here. I'm steve, I have an 04 taco, 5lug, base, 4cyl ext cab. hope someone can help, I get a bo138 trouble on my srs. is there anyone that can refer me to troubleshoot instructions for this? thank you.

thanks for your response, will look for pin out instructions seems it only throws this code during heavy rain, will definitely post findings

 

This is from a sienna but I see corolla uses the same pin.

There looks to be a youtube video for the same code but its something with the airbag. Not sure if its relevant.
Edit: Maybe it is tied in with the seatbelt pretensioner squid.

no accident just high mileage, 383,000.

 

reset the srs code now it's ok, guess I will have to induce the problem. tried pulling the seat belt a lot, stomping on the floorboard, next I will check for oxidation at the terminals, thank you.

 

checked the terminals looked shiny, no visible corosion, guess I will have to wait on it until the trouble won't clear.

 

well, just wondering, does an srs problem show up immediately or does it have to go through a similar test like the evap system? thanks.

 

Thats a great question considering I currently have an evap code up. I can clear it and it will take a day or 2 to show back up.

 

I would think for safety reasons it will probably show back up within a few miles.
