So I'm trying to get transmission back in and noticed that the pilot bearing was missing. Looked at shaft seem to be missing race for said pilot bearing. Came across an old thread about not having one? Can anyone provide any input as wtf is happening here? I got a new bearing and I just want this thing back together. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Some day I will dig out the bearing that holds the input shaft in the trans. case and post a pic. It is a big thing with tight tolerance and obviously intended to be a counter of having a pilot bearing. When I first saw the lack of a pilot bearing I was kind of mad and began thinking of a way to fabricate something. I bothers me not anymore and seems to work just fine.
