Hello y’all I’m new here and to the world of Tacomas. I just got a used 2008 Tacoma and obviously there’s a little rust on some parts. So I’m curious as to what these two parts are so I can replace them. They’re marked with the green.

Welcome to TW. They don’t look that bad, spray a little fluid film on there and it will stop the rust. Have you looked under the truck yet?

Id pull em off, knock the rust off and put a coat of Rustoleum Hammered Black spray paint on it and call it good. Those brackets dont have too much force on them so you are good.

Now... if those brackets have that much rust id be FAR more concerned about the rest of the truck / parts that are more critical.

Yes I have looked under the truck. Ultimately the frame is pretty rusted as it came from Northeast region. I’m in Colorado right now. So a dry climate.

Looks like the bolts need some attention as well. I'd replace them with stainless steel or zinc plated. They look like M8 bolts. The brackets can be wire brushed and rattle-canned with couple coats of your favorite color.
