I'm new here and new to using forums. My first new vehicle ever was my 1994 Toyota truck. Now I just put down money for a 2021 cement SR5 access with 6 foot bed on May 20th (give/take a couple of days). Was told it would be 2 weeks. Then told 2 more weeks and now 3weeks to a month. (Not complaining, just anxious as a 5 year old the day before Christmas). Already researching all my must have OEM and aftermarket upgrades and making myself crazy. I'm sure I'll be asking questions and researching this forum a fair bit.

    Welcome!

There is a 'how long are you waiting for your 2021' thread. The average is ~12wks from deposit to delivery.

Thank's for the welcome. Yeah, that's what led me to this forum in the first place. I'm a bit anxious because I know the current market is what it is and there isn't much that can be done. My 2005 Highlander with 250,000 + hard miles is on it's last legs and I'm hoping it holds on long enough. lol :)

Hear you. When I got my '17 DCLB SR5 (used), I traded in my '99 PreRunner extended cab that had 295k on the body, I'd replaced the motor & tranny several years prior due to my being hard on it when I was younger & invincible. The OR's offer a few perks that I don't need but I do want (heated seats, "leather" and sunroof) that my SR5 doesn't have. I'd have finished paying the current one off and kept it until it died but with how the market is for used ones in decent to good condition it was hard not to pull the trigger on a '21. Not to mention, our local dealer offered my wife 3k over bluebook on her '14 Rav limited back in Feb. Figured why not cash in and check off the wants and run that one until it gives up the ghost.

So I don't know about when I "reply" to this. When I read some comment and I hit "reply" am I replying to the whole thread openly or am I "replying" to a specific comment. Do I need to start with the persons screen name if I'm responding to them specifically? OMG I feel old! hahahahaha

"reply" is a general post in the thread. type an @ before a users name to tag them, like this @geovegas71 ... Hit "quote", then reply, (what I did with this reply) to reply to a specific users comment. there is also "multi-quote", similar to quote, but you can multi quote several comments to include in your reply. Welcome, have fun, good luck !

George hit "quote" on the bottom right corner. Then type your reply.

You can "quote" more than one, just add your comments after every quote.

Soooooooooo update! I was told my truck would not be available for about a month. Salesman calls me as I was leaving work yesterday to let me know that a customer just backed out of a deal on a truck that is a bit different then my requests but he thinks I may be interested. Dark Charcoal metallic , 4 door, 6' bed, Black and red interior. Last year I put the thought out of my head of having a 4 door with a 6 foot bed because the dealers wanted so much more for the combo and I also wanted the charcoal before the cement came out. So this worked out since they only charged me a couple hundred more for the option that was so much more before. Picking it up tonight! woohoo!

Get used to this when you start shopping for mods and upgrades, especially the big-ticket built-to-order items. :D Owning this truck is like a part-time procurement job.
