Fender Flare Discoloration

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Discolored after a month or two with no observable issue. Hadn't been offroading yet, didn't take it through a car wash, just sat in my driveway.

 

Try something like this.

 

Funny what UV light does to plastic over time.

 

Could be the photo, but the discoloration looks kinda greenish. I think someone had a similar outcome when their passenger got suncreen/lotion on part of the black interior door panel.

Did someone spill something on the fender and try to wipe it off? Kinda looks like wipe marks in the photo.

 

It's more of a grey. I have no clue what it could be. This happened when I was still working from home and not really driving anywhere, so there wasn't really an opportunity to get junk on it.

 

Hopefully not too quick, it's a 2020 and I had it for a month or two

 

Hey Travis! Mine does the same thing too, but it's just dirt/pollen/dust sticking to the plastic. Maybe just try to wash it and protect it after.

 

Magic Erasers work great on faded plastic trim, follow it up with some 303 Protectant

 

If it doesn't wash off, bring it to the dealership, they might cover it, I dunno.

 

Looks to me like something was spilled on it then wiped off. You can see the patterns show it was wiped.

Im going to 2nd the sunscreen idea, that stuff turns tacoma plastic all sorts of colors.

 

That's what I initially tried because it happened right after purchase. Toyota is also stating it's from an "outside influence" and wouldn't replace the fender flare

 

"outside influence" Yeah, this did not just happen; something must of got on that plastic from somewhere to cause this discoloration. Not saying you did anything wrong here OP; it could have gotten something on it before you purchased. But there is no way to prove that. I would try the magic eraser / 303 trick or that Mother's B2B and hope for the best.
