    What he said
Although I've just made my winter truck too nice and now I want a beater to save my Yoda from the VT salt, cause I really need 3 vehicles for my 9 mile commute!

    Sure does!

GM first introduced the LS family of engines in the 1997 Corvette. They called it the “Gen III small-block” now known as the LS1. The LS1 engine is a 5.7L, and it featured an all-aluminum design. It also featured coil near plug ignition, and various other new engine management features.

I wouldn’t say they’re fast, but they are definitely not slow.

My F-150 probably weighs about what my Tacoma does (DCSB Tacoma with mod weight vs RCSB F-150) and has ~35 hp more, but it kind of falls on its face higher in the rev range, despite its torquier low-end and on-paper power superiority. The Tacoma really wakes up after 3300 or so, and it can MOVE after that.

After my 2007 4.0 ranger with 207 hp and 236 tq, the tacoma felt like a rockeship to me. Mind you rangers peak torque came at 3k RPM. I did have intake and exhaust though, actually made a difference.

You could always Port & Polish a set of cyl heads , this can increase hp by as much as 40 hp !! . You can increase even more hp by performing a CNC port job

    Pocket porting

    Bowl blending

    Port contouring

    Port matching

add a 30 degree back cut to the inside diameter of the 45 degree seat angle on an intake or exhaust as a way to improve air flow
