I slide 16’ boards through my back window. If I ever get t-boned while doing that I’m getting decapitated.

Honestly, Why wouldn't you want a 6' bed? To me a truck is useless without a 6' bed, especially if you plan to sleep in it...which is why we all bought trucks right? I mean, it is called a "bed" afterall.

I have one. Just asking why he wants one.

Maybe I can sell him a foot of mine. I have no intention of sleeping in it. :D

Truck is useless without a 6’ bed? What? I’ve used my bed tons of times to haul furniture, gravel, tools, camping gear etc. Works just fine. In “truck” terms, they are both short beds.

If you were comparing 5’ vs 8’ or 10’ then I would have to agree with you.

Little of this, little of that.
The amount of people that don't know what a Friday post looks like, scares me.

If that's true then I'm actually scared.

EDIT: He's been on this site for a couple weeks.. yeah he probably was serious. Yikes. OP, be happy with your bed on your brand new truck. You're not going to do much more with another foot.

Yea maybe. But he's still not have a real truck, 'cause the payload would be reduced by the additional weight.

But since it's a 'bed' maybe Miracle Grow and regular watering would help it grow where he wants if it was pruned right.

I have the 6 foot and I use a trailer when needed, way cheaper for your problem.

I said "to me" it is useless without a 6' + bed; I'm 5'11" and camp under a truck canopy with my family when we go camping (often). If I was 4'11", or slept diagonally, then sure, a 5' bed might work. 6' is not considered a short box to me unless we are talking full size 1/2 ton or better trucks. I mean, the 6' bed doesn't cost anymore than a 5' bed, so unless you won't fit in the garage, why not have the 6' bed?

    ^Excellent tip there.

Also, make sure you get your timing and location right. Don’t want to be too far from ‘relief’ as you’re driving to it and have residual, ummm,,, urges.
