2017 Leakage on Tie Rods

    Changed my oil and rotated tires today, noticed leakage on my tie rods both sides. Power steering reservoir was low but only a slight amount. Mileage is 58902. Not happy with this. Opinions?

    Hopefully its under warranty still because you've likely got leaky steering rack seals. Only way for the PS fluid to get into those inner tie rod boots.

    TRD Baja Kit with JBA UCA's 1/2 inch spacer on top, Medium Dakars with BAMF hangars and super bumps all around. 285/75/16 Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT's on graphite TRD faux beadlock wheels. Pro skid powder coated black with Pelfreybilt aluminum mid skid and aluminum gas tank skid.
    I've noticed this on mine too but it's not as bad as yours. I'm at the same mileage too. Guess I will be calling my friend that works at Toyota.

    My GX 460 with123xxx miles is at the dealership for this very same thing. Both sides, caught it in time the boots was still holding the fluid. Kind of pricey though. Cheaper to have it done at my Toyota dealer than lexus or anywhere else.

    I had some splatter in my wheel wells and had to add a bit of PS fluid once. I had Mazda M5 fluid on the shelf for the PS in our Mazda 3 which meets the spec for the Taco also. After I added that, the splatter stopped. I just crossed 50k and there is seepage marks on my rack boots, but they are thankfully dry.

    So, you might give this Mazda stuff a try in the hope that it will condition the seals?
