    Hey Austin,

When you came out of the cab with the tubes, what did you do to seal it? I'm thinking of welding it shut but I hear some people are using silicon.

I welded mine and its been fine. For places I couldn't weld, I bought a quart jug of professional grade seam sealer. No issues

Thanks, guys. For now, I'm going to seal it with something. When I start the back half, I'll silicon bronze cage to the body to fill any gaps. I would do it now but I would need send my truck to paint and I rather do everything at once.

Silicone bronze is the best for cage to sheet metal connection.

I had planned on setting up a rear view camera that will always be on

I bought this one, made a new metal mount out of real 3/16 steel (easy) and welded it to the cage. Works like stock!

    https://www.amazon.com/Rugged-Ridge...s=Jeep+Rear+View+Mirror&qid=1622842530&sr=8-3

Also picked up some fancy SXS sun visors from Axia Alloys.

    https://axiaalloys.com/product/12-wide-sun-visor-solid-black-shield/

They fit perfect between the cage and rear view mirror

Bump on this. Picked up a cab to cage and thinking of cutting the floor out and running tubes then building a new floor. 0BC476E3-7F74-4B5E-9E37-68A971D509FE.jpg

Consider just cutting holes at each pillar and dropping it down the holes.

I know its been a minute... but for all you guys still running the OE dash with a cage:

did you run a dash bar in the cage?

did you delete the OE dash bar?

did you change the fusebox/bulkhead on the driver side to land the Front Side hoop straight down?

    1. Yes, I rolled a cage dash bar tube and it fit perfectly in there. The only vents I modified were the windshield defroster vent (when I added tubes to go over the wipers) and the driver side vent.

    2. OE dash bar was retained as pretty much everything OE mounts to it.

    3. Moved the fuse box towards the pass side to squeeze that tube in there.

Fernando, your truck will be purdy too after you get those axles under yours!

I'll check my phone later but it is possible. Would be a bit tougher without a roll bender though.

I’m doing mine now and I’m using the oe dash bar. If I can’t get the dash out of the truck the cage is going in *(I have a second cab I’m doing the cage in and then transferring it over) then I’ll add a second dash bar above the steering wheel column to build a dash off of.
I was able to squeeze the down bar next to the fuse box/bulkhead.
