What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Went to Home Depot and picked up some bonded 16ga 4-wire trailer wire and wrapped it in 5/8" 3:1 heat shrink from Amazon, tapped it into place with a dead blow hammer and a piece of cardboard.

So these showed up at my door after Ieft for work. I've got some OEM door sills but I really like these @TUFSKINZ ones. Project for next week's days off.

I agree! I'd never seen then before, but once the guy brought these ones out and showed them to me, I couldn't leave the store with anything else. They're super overkill for my application, but I'm really stoked. There's a lot of little details in these things that make them really awesome. They even designed a small chamfer to the underside of the arms, which gives it even more clearance from the coil and reservoirs. I rolled my bed mat up to send it back. I still need to tape the bag up.

While I was in the garage I figured I should knock out the AC drain mod before the heat sets in for the day. Routing wasn't quite as straightforward as I thought it would be.

 

I’m waiting on the brown guy that brings me toys. An order from Home Depot is scheduled to arrive today. Milwaukee packout cases and bases. I’ll be installing the bases on the roof rack for some click and go storage up there.

 

I love those pack out cases from Milwaukee too. What's your setup going to look like?

 

What ever I need for the mission at hand. That’s why I went packout. Normally I’ll have 2 of the small cases up there. One with my roadside assistance stuff the other with recovery gear. I’m also planning a wind fairing in front of the boxes and keeping everything aft of the sunroof. Between the two packout bases will be a small waterproof box holding the relays for the rooftop lighting.

Installed the Diode Dynamic SS3 Sport fogs yesterday. Look good and the light output is great.

 

Installed this morning some new Morimoto 16-21 Tacoma XB LED “sequential” Mirror Lights I purchased during their Memorial Day weekend sale.

I have been using the MESO customs smoke led mirror lights since late 2018. They work just fine and will be back-ups just in case.

If you watch the two videos I provided you shall see the difference between the two products.

Added topline steps. Also got the first of many scratches in the bed loading up my brothers bike.

 

I like that they have a top cap, that was my biggest complaint with my TC UCAs that I had when I lived in Colorado, the mag-chloride they spray on the roads just dissolves the teflon liner in the uniballs. I got 20k miles out of the firsts set before they had to be replaced. I wished they had top caps to keep junk from sitting up there. Looks like a pretty solid design, like you said, overkill for sure but, a great looking part.

 

How did you notice the wetness, from smell or did you actually see the water coming in? Now I'm going to be all paranoid

 

I like these better than my meso ones. Much brighter. I’m just curious if the MXB takes cake of hyper flashing. The meso ones took care of that for my truck with Total Tails? Which varies…
