High price but might be worth it. It has everything I would want. I would for sure try to work down the price. But even 43k otd would be good to me. What do you guys think?

Maybe above market price because of all the mods? Looks good though.

yeah that’s my thought. It’s really nice. Leather interior and heated seats which is a must for my next purchase. I like the moonroof option too!

Wow. I have heard and seen instances of Tacoma guys getting offers of more than they paid new, for their Tacomas, that are a couple of years old, say, the 2018, 2019 models. Just the other day, I was at the dealer where i bought my 2019 TRD Sport new, as I had to take it in for the fuel pump replacement via the recall. Anyway, while there, I walked around the lot and they had absolutely NO new vehicles on the lot at all! They had a decent inventory of used vehicles, and looking at the prices they had on the used Tacomas in stock, I was quite flabbergasted! I mean, they had a 2017 TRD Sport 4X4 and they were asking over $40,000 for that, and it is 4 years old now! So while my initial reaction to the price of this truck was that I thought it was a high, it seems to be in the ballpark for what they are going for now, due to the fact that there just aren't but a handful of new Tacomas around. I did hear though, that Toyota was doing like Ford is, and continuing to build Tacomas, but they are parking them in massive storage lots until they can get the computer chips that there is a shortage of, which is why there aren't many new vehicles on the lots. But for me, if I was going to pay that much, I would just wait until I could get a new one.

yeah a new one would be nice too. But then I have to pay for all these mods on top of my monthly payment. Buying a used one it’s already done.

That part is certainly true, and the camper shell alone would be over $1000, so I definitely get that! I have extensively modified mine, way more than I had thought I would initially. I paid $38,000 Cash Out The Door for mine in April of 2019. Since then though, I have put at least another $4000 into it, with the latest being my blackout LED headlights with clear lenses and sequential turn signals. That was just over $400 alone. My complete interior remake was $1700, not including the custom seat covers from CoverKing. The next most expensive mod was the tonneau cover which was around $375 for a hard trifold. Everything else was a coupla'hundred here, a coupla' hundred there! It does add up as you alluded to! Good luck in your negotiations! It will be interesting to read how those come out!

I think I paid $34800 for my NEW 2018 Off Road out the fucking door with taxes and everything. I was likely the first person to rip ass in it and have a GF shit her pants in it.

Would I pay this for a used FUCK NO. I don't care what it has for fluff mods, that truck isn't worth $46k to me.

yeah it’s definitely priced high. I’m gonna see if they will take less. For sure.

I would just fold you money in half you'll double it that way. IMO you're going to have a hard time talking that seller down to earth. If you truly believe that inflation is transitory there's going to be a lot of sore assholes in the future

    What's the mileage on it?
And if the mods are exactly what you would want, then ........
(But remember that when you drive it off the lot, you'd better have gap insurance on it.)
You're going to be upside down in that loan for a while.

Yeah, if you're dead set on getting one now, that's what they are going for these days. That's 5K more than I got out the door (taxes, dealer fees, and even financing) on a new 2019 Off Road with leather and the tech package, though. I don't know how long we'll have to wait for things to get sane again, but, damn.

I found it on cargurus and it has 27000 miles , JBL , P&T , leather , moon roof , icon wheels and nice suspension upgrade and 2 owners already . It should still have some warranty left . I like it but would give it a good test drive to see how it acts .

True. Used vehicles are bringing it right now. First the pandemic slowed down production, then a computer chip shortage. I just had a car dealer misdial me asking about my 2016 used Tacoma for sale. They wanted to buy it yesterday. He called 3 times before I finally convinced him he had the wrong number.

I’d drive that 98 for another year and buy a new one. Mods aren’t that expensive.

If you have a truck already, there's no way I'd be paying that for an overpriced used truck that you don't know what its been through. Could have been beat to death by a someone who doesn't know what they are doing. You can get a brand new truck for less than that.

No way, i wouldn't pay that even if i had the money.
you're considering it because you want it now but in a few years it will most likely be worth less than what you still owe on it.
Better to be patient and wait out this manufacturing and chip shortage mess, you're likely to find much better deals by then imo.
