Looking for the best upgraded speakers to put in my tacoma. Also where to buy them from as I am having trouble finding aftermarkets for the 3rd gen tacomas.

    crutchfield is a good start.

You might want some sort of amplifier. I even tossed the stock head unit that they put in my SR back in 2017

    Well mine is jbl

Front lower door is a 6x9 2ohm woofer

    Dash is a 2 3/4” 2ohm speaker/mid type thing

the front dash and woofer are on a crossover iirc

Rear door has a 6 1/2” hole with what passes for a 2way speaker 2ohm

Subwoofer is 8” 2ohm with what looked like two voice coils that are wired up directly to the amp (not in series etc)

stock amp is 20-30watts a channel, stock stereo is maybe 8-10 watts. If you have the non-jbl you can use something like a kicker key amp to give it more volume.

crutchfield has a speaker finder tool that will recommend speaker adapters wiring harness etc

    hope that helps

one tip, when changing the tweeters have the new ones within reach, the wiring harness is very short and when you unplug it from the old tweeter don't let go of the harness, then grab the new tweeter and plug it into the harness. if the harness drops into the tweeter cavity good luck fishing it out, front windshield is in the way. got mine on Amazon, front door speakers from crutchfield
