    I just ordered these shocks:

TORCH Extended Rear Shocks (FOR a 2"-4" Lift) for... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08KH1LXT..._glt_fabc_EG6D6AAE08AV82GSPXYB?_encoding=UTF8

They were $130 with free shipping on Amazon. Couldn’t find really any reviews on tacoma world.

2013 TRD OR, access cab, 6 speed MT.

I realize that you get what you pay for. I have been trying to acquire b110’s for a while now and just called wheelers and they won’t be available for the foreseeable future.

My current rear set up is all-pro expedition leaf pack, bilstein 5125’s, and super bumps. I am just looking for a little bit more droop in the back.

To compare these “torch” shocks and 5125’s:

    torch

    26.5” extended
    15.5” collapsed

    bilstein 5125

    24.38 extended
    15.01 collapsed

    bilstein b110

    27.28 extended
    16.34 collapsed

I really want b110’s, but that doesn’t seem like it’s gonna happen anytime soon and I’m impatient. These torch shocks looks like I will lose probably no uptravel and gain more than 2” downtravel.

My 5125’s are about three years old and I am gonna keep them around in case these just blow up, leak, or etc.. I figure the worst case is I waste $130 and put the 5125’s back on.

I go Offroad on lava rocks regularly. My current set up has always been sufficient, but I’m disappointed about the amount of travel and articulation . I’ve always gotten to my destination.

I should add that I’m on 5100’s, Ome 884’s, SPC UCA’s, and super bumps in the front. Bumpers and otherwise are stock, no other armor. When I go off road, I have 500+ lbs in the bed, hence the expo’s. Tires are 255/85/16 BFG km2’s on stock TRD OR wheels.

I am not gonna spend thousands of dollars when my current set up has always been sufficient. My truck is for function and not for show. My off-roading does not require fancy shocks with external resi’s.

I also ordered extended brake lines from wheelers.

I drive a Camry to work, so I don’t care if the ride is harsh. My goal is to gain some down travel. I realize these may leak or otherwise fail because they are cheap. But we will see. I will update this thread when I install them, and after a few months of use.

We’ll see where this experiment goes. Any input appreciated, thanks.

Is it possible that I thought about this all wrong and the expo spring pack is limiting my down travel?

The leaf pack doesn't really limit down travel. It provides lift and support for cargo.
I am running the 5100 rcd.... 3 to 5 inch lift. I think I am around 10 or 12 inches of down travel. It sucks working on the rear end. Gotta get a couple of pieces of wood and still extend the floor jack all the way to get the tires off the ground.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you mean, but I used to jack up under the axle as high as possible, then put jack stands under the frame. Then take the wheels off, and when you lower the jack and axle, everything should be off the ground with the suspension unloaded. Just to avoid the sketchy jack "extensions" like what I think you're talking about? I have a lift now, so I don't used floor jacks often.

Yup, my jack stands are fully extended onto the last notch. Its sketchy AF to work on. Especially on ground that isn't quite level..
I need to put a couple of 2x6 under them to raise them up to avoid last notch territory.

Got the shocks, they look good. Also got the brake lines from wheelers. Install hopefully soon when I have time.

Installed the shocks in a couple weeks ago, they are pretty firm as far as I can tell. Off road test tomorrow so we will see.

edit: also installed brake lines. What a mess, lol

Spent about 3 hours on washboard roads and about 2 hours in 4 low crawling. They performed great. No idea if they actually got me more travel, but my friend driving behind me said my rear axle was flexing out more than before. Lol. So take it for what it is. Bilsteins are sold out forever and these are working great. $130 for the pair.

They are kind of harsh, but then again I have a all pro expo pack so this ride in the back unloaded was already harsh. The bilsteins that were on there were kind of shot, so my point of reference may not be super accurate. Overall, would recommend at this point for $130 shipped. Still hasn't been that long yet, that could change if they start to leak etc..

Nothing has changed which is a good thing. They are not leaking or anything like that and are basically the same as when I got them. For the price, no problem really. They do seem to have slightly more range than the 5125’s but I gotta say I am probably still gonna order the b110’s at some point when I buy new front suspension
