    I probably didn't need a third 3wt, but for $90 on marketplace I couldn't say no.

I have an Orvis Recon 3wt and it's my all time favorite rod. We'll see how the Scott compares.

Thinking of selling the older Ross that came with it if anyone is interested.

Love this section of creek. Need some more snow to melt though. Nice to be out fishing in warm weather again, it was just a touch cold for wet wading though.

Got a little bluelining in yesterday. Finally found some rainbows and they were beautiful. Since starting on a fly rod last year, I had only caught brooks. Wish I could spend everyday doing this!

Welp, I finally got the boat out on the water last weekend. We floated two bridges to catamount...fish were off for the most part but We did pull in a handful.

Headed out to Gunni this weekend. Staying near Taylor Park reservoir, hopefully fishing along the Taylor river just south Sat morning (saw a bunch of people when I drove past last September). Not sure where else in the area would be good fly fishing.

I have a fly fishing book, guide to Colorado, or something I got from the Peak Fly shop in Woodland park. I'll be grabbing that from my parents house tomorrow (let my dad borrow it for a bit). I'm sure there will be some locations in there, just thought I'd ask here.

There was that fly shop in CB, but I'm not sure if I'll be making it up there this weekend or just going to Gunni. Planning on some kayaking in Curecanti too. Not entirely familiar with still water fly fishing, only river stuff right now.

Across from LodgePole Camp Ground I have had plenty of success. Above Taylor Reservoir has a few spots but much smaller fish. Haven't fished Spring Creek at all but know plenty who recommend it, again smaller fish than taylor will have.

Just about anything that touches the Taylor reservoir has good fish in it. Try fishing the confluence of where the upper Taylor flows into the reservoir. A couple season back we were pulling out browns, rainbows, and mackinaws just about every cast--big ones, too. Spring Creek is a blast...lots of good fishing. We've taken an 18" rainbow out of there, but most are small. If you're wanting to do some wheeling, take any of mountain passes that follow the feeder creeks to the Taylor reservoir. Once you get a couple miles up those things you'll be pleasantly surprised what you'll find.

Enough to make it a lot of fun!
Fishing some high water with the fiance and a buddy. Starting to work on my nymph rigs. Started out with a tough one. Was tossing a triple nymph rig with no barbs.

Checked out Bear Creek west of Morrison for the first time. That's the biggest moving water body I've fly fished so far. It's flowing pretty high and fast, but I managed to find a 12" brown which was a handful on the 1wt. It's my first brown on the fly rod, so I was thrilled to have hit another first. I tied up that emerger midge it took that morning, so that was fun. Oh, and I was wet wading for the first time which was a bit challenging at times with the strong current. I'm hooked (pun intended)!

Nice fish! Bear creek is great...enjoy it while it lasts. Usually the flows drop wayyyyy down by July.
