Tacoma Production Location?

I didn't know that there was two plants in mexico, interesting. Maybe it is the newer plant, but I am sure that all the toyota plants anywhere in the world will be similar due to internal qc guidelines. Just a guess based on my working with other japanese manufacturers in the past. They consider their qc as critical. I can't imagine it would be any different for auto manufacturers

 

Often the primary reason for leaving the US is government over regulations, is the reason cars are no longer produced in commifornia.

Over regulation simply pushes production to countries that pollute more resulting in more pollution and loss of jobs in the US. There has to be a balance approach to taxes and regs.

That's not saying much! JD Power has pretty much zero credibility.

 

Toyota plants have in line quality audits often and all plants use the same criteria and very thorough inspections. These scores can be used to determine where new models are built. Audit scores are really important to the plants! It's true JD Power has lost some credibility when they started using perception as a quality standard over dependability, ie Do you like the texture of the knobs on the radio.

 

I think the drivetrain in my truck was made in Texas but the rest and final assembly was in Mexico.

They're using the old NUMMI plant that 1st and 2nd gen Tacomas used to be built in.

Ford and GM just announced plant moves to Mexico. Please inform me as to why they are doing this.

 

My '19 TRD OR AC M/T was made in Texas for the Canadian market (not available in the USA). The Goodyear Wrangler Adventure Kevlar tires with the 3 mountain peak/snowflake (winter rated) were made in Canada.

I was somewhat worried after noticing my Final Assembly Location,

but not too concerned.
My 2017 sport was Baja and now the 2021 sport is in the new central plant.
