    I kid, I kid.

For $90 and time and money spent trying to fix it the new parts option is a no brainer. Smart choice.

Good call, OP. Having that plug blow out going down the road and frying your transmission would cost way more than a new pan.

Did the pan come with new magnets or does Toyota charge $9,000 extra for those?

Didn’t come with the magnets. I transferred them over from the old pan.

Put the new strainer and o-ring. All buttoned up. Ready for some fresh ATF WS. About 7 quarts came out.

Make sure to do a proper fluid level check. 7 quarts in the pan seems high to me. Might be overfilled.

Yeah I did a drain and fill a couple of months age after the truck sat for a week and got 3.7q. Definitely high if you got 7 out.

My drain n fill was about 3.5 quart-ish a while back. Dropping the pan and pulling the strainer resulted in about 6.75 quarts coming out. Filled with about 6.75 quarts and trickle-drained out about 0.25 quart.

Test drove my truck - the transmission shifts like buttah! :bananadance: Absolutely love it!

Over full is fine as long as you do the proper temp check afterwards.

Where did you get the pan from? I am in the same situation. I overturned the trans drain plug and it messed up the thread. It seemed like it recreatead a new thread pattern. Thank you in advance.

If you're lucky all you need is a new drain plug. I drilled mine out to 27/64 and then tapped in out to M12x1.25, just be careful. There is enough metal for an M12 drain plug and it'll take more torque than the M10. So far it's ok. Just don't get a drain plug that's too long. The reason for my choice of M12x1.25, it has more thread engagement than the coarser thread option.

I decided to do the Transmission Fluid Change this morning and the drain plug was stuck just like OP. I was able to take the bolt off and did see some threading on the pans but the bolt was half smooth half with threads.

I went to Toyota and bought a new Drain Plug and hoping it will work. Just in case it does not, I’m ready to read thread the pan a bit.
Is this a good idead to re-thread the pan in my situation?

I did a drain and fill last week and still okay. Best to have the pan removed to do this.
