I have a 2018 TRD pro with a cap on it. I love the truck and I don't tow often enough to justify replacing it for a lager one.
I'm considering air bags but I know very little about them.

I've read they made the ride quality on the road a little worse when not in use.

Are there any brands I should or shouldn't go with?

Air bags shouldn’t affect ride quality unless you leave them overinflated for the load you have

sumo springs (the foam bumpstop things) will affect ride quality

you could also swap the springs to something like the icon RXT. It’ll give you a bit extra support for the weight and still ride really nice
