This is EXACTLY the info I was looking for! I guess I should have asked what it's all supposed to do haha. That last wire must be for the markers then!

Currently it doesn't do anything because I I don't have that harness connected at all. I forgot wire when I went to go pick it up so I brought it home out of compliance re: third brake light.

My guess is that a lot of folks are new Tacoma owners, they think our campers are fast depreciating goods. But it's like nah dood. These things are good for decades. Everyone was trying to lowball me for 3k to 5k.

Interesting. Yeah, I sold mine for $8K early this year. Think FB marketplace was where I finally found a buyer.

My wife purchased a bed mosquito net with the round ring at the top. Eventually we took out the ring and tied it (it had short ribbon ties) to the tent hoop, tucking in the extra material around the hoop between it and the tent sides. We would simply lift it up as we crawled into the bed. Surprisingly it kept the bed area a few degrees warmer on cold nights.

Instagram folks are not affected by bugs in the field.

Us mere mortals close up panels and the back of the truck to keep the bugs out as much as possible :D

For anyone that needs this info going forward, with these helpful folks I was able to determine that in the (at least my) 4 pin harness from the Habitat, the wiring is:

Blue - 12V+ for lighting/USB/12V socket in the pillars
    White - Ground
    Black - Running/parking lights
    Red - Brake light

Ah.. I keep forgetting that IG is not the real world. I mean keeping the doors shut is the most logical answer!

That’s what I do. Keep it shut and no bugs get in. Just like leaving my house doors shut

Ahoy fellow Hab owners, looking for some updated suggestions on mattresses for this thing... The stock was just no bueno for us, found a good deal on an exped megamat duo lw+, but it measures out 51" so needs to be deflated and put away every time. Those of you that replaced the stock (or augmented), what y'all end up with?

I used two 3.5 inch self inflating mattresses (REI brand, since discontinued) that fit side by side. Used velcro on the back to hold them to the carpeted sleeping platform. The corner gets slightly squeezed where the poles would lay down, but you just pop the air valves and the Habitat opened an closed up just fine.

Appreciate the follow up, was thinking of doing the same with 2 separate as well. That way the SO can have her preference of mattress too.

YUP! it works great for that. She hates single chamber air mattresses since I tend to toss and turn in my sleep, bouncing her around and waking her up, lol.

We just switched to an Exped Megamat duo. It is a couple inches too wide but if you keep it close to the front it fits well enough. We can fully close the Habitat with it still in place just need to deflate the mattress with a hand pump. We love the upgrade and it means I no longer have to bring my backpacking pad to use on top of the stock mattress.

Duo LW? The one that's 51" wide? Guess I never really tried closing the hab with it in, since it pushes the tent out when in use. Mind expanding on deflating with a handpump?
