I read in an issue of Motor Trend that a lot of car and truck models across the industry are throttling down production due to the limited availability of computer chips. One of the models mentioned was the Tundra. Anyone seeing a dearth of Tundra’s on dealer lots?

They don't make a lot anyway, and there is a new model coming, so it is probably a combination. They are probably saving the chips to produce the next model.

It's 2021 how many people know Toyota still sells a new Tundra? Out of those people, how many of them are considering buying a 2021 Tundra?

I can't see that much demand for a new Tundra.

It's one of the lowest selling full size pickups. But it is also the most reliable full size. Why buy new if you don't have to?

Toyota doesn't have a chip shortage that other manufacturers are facing right now. They stockpiled from a few years ago. If anything it would be a shortage of other raw materials or just the current global supply chain backlog mixed with demmand

Only Nissan sells less full size trucks. The tundra is the most reliable full size on the market, and that is why people buy it.

I’m looking to build a tundra and it’s crazy how a lot of dealerships only have around 15 to 10% inventory of tundras.

You’re going to build your Tundra at a dealer lot?

Now the plants are being refitted and there's gonna be a huge influx of 2022's when its ready.

2007 was a big year for tundra, and 2022 will be as well.

So it’s turbos, first year unreliability and more ugly bodywork?

Around 4:45. Sales guy saying Toyota is stockpiling trucks and will release remaining inventory when 2022s are ready. Not sure if I understood correctly.
