I’m wiring up a light bar using a premade wiring harness and Push button switches that have the blue led light in them. The diagram that came with it as well as every other one I’ve seen says to run straight to the battery which I did. However the led light in the switch stays on even when I turn the truck off. Seems like the light in the switch should be off or its draining power, however slow that tiny led might drain it. Anyone familiar with these? Am I just being paranoid that the switch light stays on? First photo is the wire I had hooked to the battery (red) running to the relay on the side wall (blue). Second photo is the switch. 13838FFD-F5E7-4667-8869-773CB0D8AF53.jpg7A2D54F0-5BF8-4749-87CA-4C8FC0DDBC36.jpg

Are these CH4x4 switches? There should be 2 reds on the switch and 1 is for the illumination of the switch, and that needs to be tapped into your illumination circuit

No I didn't order them from there, they have a red, a black, and a blue to the switch, I assume the blue is for the LED. Its all in a prewired harness, I only know that because I cut the heat wrap off and shortened it by about 3' so I wouldn't have all the excess to deal with.

Not sure on that one, I have a had a few different brand switches and most that are that style have 4 wires, 1 ground 1 power 1 to relay and 1 for illumination, hopefully someone has had this issue and chimes in.

The switch in the picture doesn’t light up but I have another switch with a light wired the same way and it only lights up when it’s flipped on. Black wire to gold pin, blue wire to the middle, and red to the bottom one.

Here is that switch that lights up when turned in. It’s a premade wiring harness from Amazon that came with my light bar. I replaced the switch to this one that lights up from Advance Auto. Same idea though. Red to power, blue to middle, and black to ground.

The light is always on because it’s directly wired to the battery. It needs to be on a accessory circuit so when vehicle is offer key is in off position- power is off.

I am going to wire and LED Bar up. What options other than making a new hole in firewall to get wires from engine bay to fuse box?

You can snake a wire thru the boot on the firewall. Just tape it to a long non-conductor like a wire tie, and wiggle it thru the boot.
