After I convince my Wife that our soon to be Tacoma needs a winch, , I have a 10,000 lb. Electric that I would like to install.
    Questions are:
Which winch bumper is a good value and not too expensive?
Steel or Aluminum. I can see big advantages to Aluminum due to less weight.
Also, is it a good idea to install a second battery? If so, where under the hood with the V-6.

Take a Look around and find one you like. We have several threads on bumpers. Steel vs aluminum is a personal decision based on your needs. Pick which you prefer

These guys make a sweet bumper that just replaces the black plastic at the bottom of the front bumper which won't require you to cut the entire bumper!

Aluminum is probably the way to go for the weight savings. For skid plates I would say steel. Even though it's heavier it won't dent as easily and get caught on rocks.

Is a second battery a necessity with a Winch that would only be used occasionally?
Any photos of a second battery installation?

    No.

However you can run a search on the forum for dual battery setups.

BodyArmor 4x4 HiLine Winch Bumper is fantastic. No 2nd battery needed.
