JFC the guy asked a question. We get you’re all “Tim the Toolman Taylor’s” but he just ASSumed one of you might know off hand. Sound like a bunch of guys arguing over video games.

Great. Thanks for continuing the trend of useless posts that are of no help to the OP and bumping a thread that's been dead for 7+ months.

Or....just don't act like everyone else is stupid, while a modern forum can't lock an old thread. Speaking of threads, the threads on these are extremely soft, which is why I wound up here. And bleep, your too is missing an O, but we're the idiots. Cheers.

I know this was a while ago but do you remember if this size worked? Have the exact same problem right now. Also how did you get the broken bolt out?

    Pretty sure this was it:

    “10mm head bolt's are 6x1.0mm as for the length I'd say 20mm”

I just left it in there? There are extra holes? TBH it was long enough ago that I don’t remember. I could have possibly drilled it out with an easy out too.

    Good luck

I need to remove a couple of taillights in the dark. Without making much noise. Anybody got some tips?

Measure the length in mm. The thread is a standard 1.0 thread for a 6mm bolt (10mm is the wrench size, the bolt is referred to as a 6mm). There's fine thread available but those are not common at all and the difference would be immediately obvious to the eye. You won't have any difficulty matching it up at a hardware store, it's likely the only thread they offer in 6mm.
