Just took delivery of my 2021 OR manual, replaced the 2007 OR manual that was rock solid for the past 14 years. Honestly, concern manuals are going away was the impetus for the spend.

So this 2 speed mod is the same thing as my old Jeep with the two stick transfer case to be shifted into low without engaging the front axle.
One concern about doing that is the increased torque to only one drive line.
You don't want to romp on the throttle.
Jeep put an interlock in the shift rails to prevent putting the transfer into low without the front axle engaged. Guys would remove the simple ball and spring interlock to accomplish the mod.

My 1978 Chevy short bed stepside, with 4 speed manual (lowest gear was “L” and was known as a granny gear) purchased new in November Of ‘77 required that the clutch be pressed in to start, so that requirement has been around at least 44 years.

Mods? We don't need no stinking mods.
I didn't have to push the clutch in to start my '87 Acura Integra or '92 Jeep Wrangler.

82 Subaru hatchback ask, my buddy who wanted to listen to the radio while, I pumped gas he'll tell you, didn't have to push the clutch in to start... Car was in first gear, it promptly started, fuel hose's only stretch so far, until the nozzle breaks off squirting gas everywhere...

LOL! I think I saw the same thing happen in a Formula 1 race.

Congrats on your new truck. You are one of the lucky ones. Tacos seem to be in short supply!

Thanks, starting to see that!!! I only got one FOB key and one regular (valet key), was told Toyota would send me a notification when chip availability allowed them to make/send out secondary FOB keys. Puts it in perspective regarding shortages.

Honesty I cannot test drive one but how is the pedal for the clutch on the 2020+s?

my last manual was a 92 Mazda b2200 lol. That clutch was a leg/ankle breaker

The clutch travel is very long compared to cars, engagement point is quite high, some will squeal, most will make clicking noise barely audible when fully depressed. I noticed that the spring is pretty stiff if you're used to soft clutch feel

I find the clutch to be smooth and easy. Some complain that it squeaks, but mine hasn’t yet. I think you will find it far more comfortable than an ankle breaker.

I wonder if the 6MT will be discontinued even before the end of the 3rd Gen, like the regular cab after 2014 or the 5MT after 2017.
