I am really disappointed with the range on the OEM shark fin antenna on our 2017. Are there any boosters or aftermarket antennas that can increase the reception area?

You and I may be 2 of the 27 people left in the US that listen to radio stations in a vehicle........

But I don't have a reception problem, because I just have a regular 'ole antenna on my fender. :D

Do you have any LED lights? specifically LED headlights? They are crazy noisy on the radio spectrum.

AGREED! I went from my 2013 Subaru Forester to a 2019 Tacoma TRD OR, and have been disappointed with the radio reception. I drive from my home near Dayton OH to my workplace near Cincinnati OH, and generally listen to NPR.

My Subie's radios have generally maintained a nice solid signal on 91.3 / 91.7 FM from Cinci to my home.

Unfortunately, my Tacoma radio reception sucks. In & out at various spots between Cinci & Dayton.

    Thanks, Toyota! :-(

I’m thinking it isn’t all antenna issues. Florida is flat transmission towers aren’t that high = shorter range especially line of sight signals. Boulder is mountainous lots of shadows also effects line of sight.
    Also, what’s the signal strength?

Where I live transmitters are up on top of a mountain. The basin is pretty flat. Signal strength is pretty much maxed out. No problems here.

Not sure about your location, but here in SW Ohio-istan, I noticed a significant difference in the FM reception ability of my 2019 Tacoma vs my dear departed 2013 Subaru Forester (turfed out to my daughter). I had ZERO fading when listening to a NPR show starting in Cincinnati, ending near Dayton with my Forester. With the Tacoma, however, the signal strength on a given frequency only works about half way between the two cities.

i agree with this. What aftermarket parts do you have? I had a cheap dash-cam that caused a crazy amount of interference. It took me nearly 3 months to figure that one out. :anonymous:

Mine currently is stock so no add-ons to cause interference, just sucky reception. I could get a bunch more stations in my CRV than I can in the Tacoma, just sitting in the driveway.
