New member here.. looking to upgrade our 2nd gen Access Cab Taco (TRD off road) to a 3rd gen Double Cab (TRD off road), and would prefer the long bed for the space, but want to make sure we won't sacrifice access to places we like to visit.

There's a lot of posts on the DCLB vs DCSB, but none are really conclusive. What I want to know, is what are some specific trails in NorCal, SoCal, & Western Nevada that you know (or think) a DCLB would not handle where a DCSB would?

We don't do crazy rock crawling, but want to feel comfortable on roads like Leviathan Mine Rd, Lagomarsino Canyon, High Rock Canyon, Steele Pass, etc.

Any modifications you would deem essential for the long bed to do well on said roads?

I haven't had trouble getting to the places I want to go in our LB. Did Steel Pass a couple months ago and it was no problem. I haven't done the other trails yet but reading about them I would be game to try.

You can do most trails just airing down with good tires and a good attitude, but for peace of mind sliders and a skid plate are nice. Beyond that it all depends on what else you want to do with your truck. I'll have to check out those other trails and report back :D
