My bosses dad was like that, luckily it worked with me :D

He hired a guy from a temp agency once, the guy worked for a hospital as a lung therapist and got fired. He was a good guy but he messed a lot of stuff up. One thing that stuck out was he left the wrench on the top of the mill after tightening the collet and turned it on. When it came off it busted the digital readout on the mill beside it

Two things I try not to ever do is take my hands off that wrench or the T-handle in the lathe, until my business with them is done of course. There is a rare occasion I might leave T-handle in a chuck, but when I'm right there, know the hazzard and only for a second when I need a free hand.

Our other two mills have air tighteners on them, when I use the one with the wrench I try to make sure to take it off. I think after that guy flung it off it has stuck with me. I brought a friend in here one Saturday and had him running an old lathe we had, he left the T handle in it and turned it on. Luckily it got stuck when it turned and didn't come out. We had a heck of a time getting it out.

It would be nice if they at least get me someone that would pick up after themselves and help me maintain the shop. The last 5 years I tried to avoid the shop as much as possible. Now it's just me again.
This picture taken just minutes ago. I've sharpened 2x as many and put them away the last 2 days. I should get back to work on them. Notice the date20210611_085159.jpg

This taken a minute ago too. This is when things went South and my give care kind of broke down. That's how much I avoided the machine shop and our office. 20210611_090149.jpg

I did that to a guy I was teaching to weld. :anonymous:

Me: "There is 2000 psi in the bottle, never have you face near the gauge when you crack the valve".
Him: Carefully gets away from gauge and cracks valve
Me: Pops the packing bag I had under my foot
    Him: :rocket:
Me: Gets ladder to get him off the ceiling

I've always been able to count my blessings as far as my job is concerned. Anyways I always do what's asked of me, even things that aren't.
In reality I know there are many other places out there that don't pay much more than half what I earn and then they want a jack of all trades to include electrical, knowledge of PLC'S, HVAC, Plumbing to name a few.
