    I will ask where they come from next time. It's a better washer, and free. I half expect them to be Dorman, looks the same at least.

    Yeah appreciate that. I bought these cheaper ones, looked the same and figured how could they screw that up:frusty:
    The dealership used to throw the blue ones in for free here as well, but it's just gotten more convenient to order online. Nearest dealer is like 45 miles. Now even local Walmart has started carrying the filters.

    I've been using Dorman 12mm / 1/2" copper drain plug gaskets P/N 65271 (2-pack) for the past few years with good results. It's widely available at most auto parts stores. If the store clerk needs to search for it by vehicle, tell them it's for a 1979 Jeep CJ.

    I agree with Wguest, get a Fumoto oil valve and your oil change will be a breeze moving forward it will save you time and less cleaning

    Interesting! My only reservation is the loss of a magnetized plug that helps pull out metal particles from the oil pan.
