I recently viewed à video that pointed out that it's important to engage the 4x4 actuators for the Transfer Case, Front Axle, and Diff Lock at least monthly so that don't seize up from lack of use.
Is this in the manual and is it true?

It's Toyotas way of helping out the guy with a strict wife that doesn't get it. He can show her what the manual says and use it as his reason to go wheel'n at least once a month.

And you thought Toyota didn't care about you?

    Can the actuators actually seize?
I know that the rule for older 4 wheel anything with front hubs manually actuated and a stick on the floor to engage the front drive line, was to engage every so often to lubricate the parts.
Kind of like what my Urologist once told me......"Use it, or Lose it!".

    The actuators are electronically driven.

With that, if you are not flicking the switch every now and then and confirming they still do their thing, how ya gunna trust them when your wife finally lets you out of the house to go play with your friends in the dirt? :notsure:
