    Hi to all!

First, I'm new to this forum and to the truck world in general, so pardon me if a make little sense from time to time :)

I have a question regarding the break pads of my 2020 Tacoma TRD Sport.

Yesterday I took it to the dealership for the first service (which in Mexico is 6,300 miles OR six months, whatever happens first). If I don't follow this program, I lose my warranty.

Service is mainly Oil Change and quick check on other things and costs about $80 USD.

The final check says brake pads have 75% life front/80% life back. I was surprised, is this normal? Isn't that a lot of wear for 6k miles? I do not abuse the truck and rarely do hard driving.

That said, what should my approach with the dealership be to sort this out?

    thank you all!

With that low of miles the dealer didn't pull your drums or measure your front pads.
I'm sure they did a quick visual and marked it on the sheet. No biggie. Probably will say something similar on the next multi-point sheet.

Yeah I doubt it. Don’t think they actually checked

You lose your Toyota factory warranty? I find that highly unlikely, even in another country.

Or do you lose one of those 'dealer lifetime warranty' things? Which is nothing more than a way to get you in the door to lubricate your wallet.

I'd bet a great steak dinner that there is zippo wrong or worn with your brakes.

Read the fine print on your paperwork. Closely. Then decide if maintaining a relationship with this dealer is worth your effort.

20 to 25% sounds like a lot of wear but it's probably due to the initial brake pad/shoe seating process.
