    Hi all

So I've had Bilstein 5100s up front in my 09 DCSB 4x v6 taco. Since... 10k miles. And now its over 100k. They are tired.

Somewhere around... 80k I upgraded stock coils to the Eibach perfomance coils. Sure they are better than stock but the ride is still harsh up front. I think the 5100s are dead. Actually, I know they are. Replaced the shock bushings around then too which helped, but not much.

So I am looking at tossing the 5100/eibach coils and going to a full 6112. My BIG QUESTION is - has anyone done this and what was the difference? SECOND QUESTION anyone riding the 650# coils on stock bumpers and if so, how does that feel? Looking for as close to 2.5" lift up front that I can get.

I have a long trip coming up at the end of the month and it would be nice to throw them on beforehand.

Some other maybe pertinant details - rear suspension is an Icon RXT leaf pack in stage 2, with bilstein 5160s. Superbumps and trail gear U bolt flip kit holding that on. Getting a solid 2.5" lift on the rear with that action, it's perfect and rides smooooth as hell, even unloaded. Loaded up it gets even better. Wheels are falken at3 wildpeak 285/75r16s. Up front I have camberg UCAs, cmc for the tire clearance.

Pretty stoked with my setup, just need to replace the front struts and it's perfect. 10 years in the making on this! I do all my own work and save up for the components which apparently takes me a minute to do.

Good luck getting 6112s by the end of the month.

That is a good point. Even if I can't procure them by then, still interested in doing it.

Kinda mainly interested in hearing if anyone is doing the new 650# coils and how they like them. Mainly.

I have the 6112 at max lift which gave me 2.4" after settling, SPC UCAs on 255/80/17 tires. For the first few days I had 3"+ lift which my front diff bushing was not happy about lol

I have 5160s in the rear with a 3 leaf AAL bolted on to the stock leaf pack. I got exactly 1.5" of lift.

The 6112s ride pretty good on and off road.
They are digressive shocks which you will notice for the first 1000 or so miles. Small chatter bumps on the street where a little rough.
I can't tell if the shocks are worn in and more plush now or I got used to it but either way its a smooth ride cruising down the highway.

The 5160 rears are really smooth on road and a tad bit too soft off road. I easily bottom out the shocks while the 6112 up front do very well.
30-55mph desert fire roads feel great. I get the occasional harsh top out but I when I get into little sand whoops.

Overall I'd say it's a solid purchase since my goal was to have a truck good for my daily commute but still get through the trails comfortably.

Awesome thank you. Standard coils on that? or the 650s? Thats pretty much the same usage mine will get, so Im looking for the same balance.

Whatever stock is. I thought stock was a 650 spring but not sure off the top of my head.
