    Yep, thats a unpainted surface so it will rust. It will also take 30 years in the ocean to even start to cause a issue there.

    Also in Ny. My lower control arms look like they have been dipped in the ocean compared to the photo above!

    I live a couple hundred yards from the ocean and drive through ocean spray almost every day. Fluid film keeps the rust away.image.jpg

    Yeah, those areas are thick heavy unpainted steel. Probably last a century like that. Its all the thin painted metal chassis components like the brake backing plates, and the frame that will rust really bad in a few years if not protected with a rust inhibitor like cosmoline or fluid film.

    Wow. Mine doesn’t look like that. 2017 SoCal taco too. Anyway, it doesn’t look too bad. Maybe been to big bear ? Road salt does that too.
