Gvwr……I don’t like this game. These trucks quickly go over when you armour them up and get some camping gear in there.

 

Great picture of your truck! I like those side steps and the lower bar will give you some protection. At least you have a short box for ground clearance with regards to your wheel base.

Honestly I think they could've just changed the brackets to mount to the frame, and sold them as real sliders. Could be a potential DIY if I ever get into welding again.

 

Adding armour will get you over GVWR.

Curb weight is 2,000kg (4410lbs)
(warning label says never exceed 450kg / 1000lbs)

for me;
Tonneau cover +80lbs
Back rack +35lbs
Rubber bed mat +27lbs
sliders +60lbs
bumper +75lbs
full skids + 117lbs
winch +70lbs (
my fat ass +250

so total is 714lbs on a day to day.
Having 2 other adults on board, i'll go over GVWR.


so lets have some fun and add camping gear;

Cross bars+10lbs
hobo RTT +60lbs
storage, food and water + 15lbs
clothes +5lbs
other stuff +20lbs
extra gas +20lbs

and i'm up to around 844 lbs before the "limit". meaning whoever tags along with me should be under 156 lbs.

 

With bonus items to spare

 

My gvwr is 5450lbs. Which is lower then yours. So you can only imagine the difference…..
