I need a leveling/lift kit installed in Austin Tx, anyone??

Hello guys looking to install one of these kits I live in Austin
I believe its a 3" front and 2" rear plus leveling and Ive heard its like a 2 hour install.

X2 for Krawltex. However front spacers and rear blocks not my first recommendation for a small lift. I would go with Bilstein 5100's all the way around with a rear add a leaf just my 2 cents. Read up on front spacers here on TW before you get it installed.

If you go with the Bilsteins all around and the add a leaf in the rear are additional upgrades necessary as well? There is a lot of talk about after market UCAs, diff drops, etc. Why or why not would these components be added as well?

I have also have read several threads where people with the Bilsteins all around and AAL in rear have complained about very stiff ride and issues with vibrations, floating on highway, etc

Just trying to get all this straight as there are many arguments for and against both kinds of lifts and I am trying to figure out which to go with too. Thanks

 

Here is a link to the readylift website that talks about leveling kits. They dont sound like they cause damage or change the factory ride but of course they arent going to talk negatively about their own product. Not sure what to believe.

Kind of a mouth full to explain every detail, but you really gotta do your research when upgrading your truck. I'm not suggesting that you haven't researched or looked into suspension on our trucks, but spacers will likely destroy your current bilsteins if you ever take your truck in the dirt and drive it hard.

While top place spacers do not put any load on the spring (compress the spring to lift the truck) they do push the entire coilover further down, which means the shock is further away from the bump stop that prevents ultimate destruction. As a result, the shock is turned into a bump stop... and this is what happens. Bare in mind that if you do not off road your truck at all, or take hard speed bumps (ridiculous) then spacers will be fine for you.

 

Tacoma world is the real world, if the crowd says they break components, they're probably right, and while ready lift and the rest of the company's that produce spacers say good things about them, keep in mind it's a business. If the people are buying junk then why stop selling the junk? Kinda like cigarettes.

When i had my spacers on i did it myself, and did an AAL. I imagine that the blocks and the spacers would be just as easy, it took me awhile because it was my first time under the truck. But held up great

 

I think you will want to take that off in a few months. I helped my buddy do that on a Tundra and 2 months later we put in 5100s up front and a full leaf pack in the rear. If I were you I would take that back and save for a better lift.

EDIT: Basically I wouldnt mind helping you do the lift but I dont like doing things twice. Trust me I have done this a few times.

 

Never done a lift, but would be interested in helping in you out if that is what you're looking for. Wanting to learn, but no experience, and I live in Fort Worth; doesn't sound like much help, but I'm in. I might even be interested in flying down if you went the Bilstein route.

 

If you're in South Austin, Jeep Masters is not a bad alternative. They did a great job on my cab mount shop and aligning after my UCA's.
