Also, I just wanted to say Cockamamie. It's an underused word that I feel needs to be more mainstream. :burp:

Yea, well, the one side is OEM, but the other side looks like a different font. That threw me off at first but when I saw the passenger side I was like AHA! So yea, buyer beware on this one.

You should reply "Great, let me know when you can accept it"

I wave at you all the time. It's just never you though I am waving at. I bet there's a sub-set of Tacoma drivers around here not on the forum that say "oh yea, that weirdo" in conversations.

Here Eric, for all the waves you missed from me.......

We have a summer house just off of Chincoteague Island. We can see Wallops Island and the satellites and Chincoteague from our communities private marina and crab pier. Its nuthin' fancy but its a perfect little getaway spot and lets me pretend to be an off roadie on the beach. Weve had the place 40 years. I have alot of great memories down there and hope to make alot more!

Wow, that's freaking awesome! Sounds great. We are huge fans of any shore. Always have been. We would love to retire someplace like that and live the beach life. We definitely want to take our dog to the shore too soon so she can experience it. I know she will be overwhelmed.

Happy Monday MD-ers! Hope everyone had a great weekend. Got a bunch done on the taco with the beautiful weather. Of course one project leads to the next on this thing, which is fun but sometimes a PITA! Still have to put on the new rear suspension, fix the cancer in the back, get alignment, brake lines, and get the tires mounted.

New OME and SPC up front:

    upload_2021-6-14_10-46-53.jpg
    upload_2021-6-14_10-47-11.jpg

    Cancer in the back:
    upload_2021-6-14_10-47-37.jpg

What’s the best way to restore the frame on this thing? POR-15? Wool wax?

    Thanks guys

Also have a question regarding alignment. I won't have time to put the rear leafs on till next weekend but the front needs an alignment. Is it ok if I get an alignment now and then throw the rear on?

    Thanks

Ok, so after seeing what @EatSleepTacos and then @rnish , and others have done I have decided to do the same thing. That is, remove the rear seats and build a platform for Phoenix. She loves riding in the truck and we take her with us wherever we go.

If you want the long version, the thread and my posts are here:

But for those TLDR people here are some pics.

The next step is to add some storage for all our Doggie accessories we always pack with us for Phoenix, like bowls, bottles of water, poop bags, etc. Then to also have storage for other things I like to keep in the truck. First aid, fire extinguishers, spare jackets, etc.

I bought this, it will be delivered tomorrow:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08L1ND68R/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8

It should hold everything we need to keep in there for her.

I also want to add something to the doors for her to support herself better, so I am also looking at these:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08LNWZ5VJ/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=A1NVP34VXY7CAY

Then finally, so I don't have to leash her when she's back there, I am seriously considering adding these to the inside of the doors somehow. She tends to get tangled in the leash.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G7318Z9/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=A2XJDOZNK9V3PD

Which could be attached and removed easily with something like this

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0096QS0XS/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_3?smid=A2E93VB4S5T98N

I'd appreciate any of your ideas to some of the final door applications.

No, that should not mess with the front at all. Just a thought, Firestone (if you want to trust them) have 20 or 40 off lifetime alignment.

I would think as long as you don't change the geometry of the front doing the rear, no, get it done now. But it might just be better to wait a week. I would also wait until you have the tires on just incase you need to increase the caster.
