3rd Gen 2017 Tacoma Auto Transmission Issues Mostly Solved...

    Lift/wheels/tires
    Had some upshift issues early on, truck liked to stay in lower gears even on flat/downhill with very little or no throttle. The dealer reflashed the ECM, made a little difference, but certainly has its own personality. My Gen ll never exhibited those characteristics.

    Other than that, great truck, going on 4 years old, 70K miles, still tight, always under powered, wish they'd put a V8 in the Tacomas, or at least supercharge them!

    If you are in the city you can always select s4 or s5. Have you tried that?

    You don’t want those overdrive gears in the city right.
