Im sorry, what is that for? The rear?

That’s the biggest knockoff of a Fox DSC that I’ve ever seen. Maybe the second biggest. :anonymous:

Haha yessir that's part of the beginning of my rear end. Now I gotta get the fab guy to find some time for me to actually start getting things slapped together.

I mean, as long as they aren't violating any patents and the quality is there, the price is pretty hard to beat . :anonymous: Otherwise I would have stayed with ADS.

Haha I'm in no way worried. I'll simply change them up if I gotta but I'm more than willing to give new companies a shot. The customer service from this Locked Offroad company has been really cool so far - always calling me back in a very timely manner if not answering on the spot and answering SO many stupid questions I come up with.

Pretty sure that violates ALL of the patents and nobody has proven they have any quality.
As far as we know, they order off Alibaba.com and relabel once received.

This is what infuriates me. We Americans have created this desire to have the best product, for the cheapest price, and in the quickest time. That’s not how life works. So you’re essentially putting your hard earned funds towards a product based on price, not knowing any of the background behind the company.

So you’d rather support a knockoff company other than a company such as ADS, who is known to provide a quality product and is based in AZ?

In the race to the bottom, nobody wins. My business primarily sells to other businesses. Retail/individuals come second. Every job is a custom job, but some people expect it quicker and cheaper than whatever crap they found online. They think they’re going to Walmart and picking it up off a shelf. I used to get butt hurt over it and try to figure out how to make the impossible possible, but gave up on that quickly. We do high quality work and have excellent customer service. I’m competitive when I need to be, but I don’t give it away for free. I have confidence in what we produce. Let them tie up my competition with the bullshit while I focus on getting their profitable customers/jobs.

Some people are always going to shop for the absolute lowest price and they will get whatever they get. When they get tired of being screwed and left hanging, they will pony up for a company with good quality and customer service. Sorry for the rant, I just appreciate a like mind on that topic.

I'm 3k miles away from the shock mecca, so I have NO clue and can't speak of patents or Alibaba or quality, but Sherpa has been racing the 4600 class in Ultra 4 with their stuff. So far it seems to have held up after several races and a decent showing at KOH. They could very well be a knock off outfit and I do agree that we have become our own worst walmart enemy in that a lot of what we are sold these days is overseas junk.
Anyways, here is a link to some pics of the Sherpa 4Runner in action.

I didn’t get the chance to read your whole post earlier before work. I looked at the price/performance ratio when I made my decision. My ADS bypasses are great, they are a great company, and their product outshines all the other big names in my opinion when it comes to quality and performance. But long story short, life happens, and I’m no longer building a go fast rig, so I don’t need the extra bling and performance of the bypasses. I gotta save for things other than the truck so I went with Locked.

If it were some cheap crap made overseas, hell to the no, I would not be supporting it. However, Locked is a CA family owned business. And from what I’ve heard and seen in my experiences talking to Riley, their customer service is up to standards. So I am confident in giving them a try on my truck for the money. Are they a knockoff? Maybe, but everyone said that ADS is a knockoff of King first, and it doesn’t make sense to reinvent the wheel when delivering this kind of product. That’s just business. And as we can see right now with the lead times, there’s more than enough business to go around right now. When I ordered my ADS shocks they were 6 weeks. Now ADS is quoting 20 weeks.

@Gregero Did your shocks ship from a "olympus offroad" in CO? I just got my 14" smoothies in. I'm not sure what to make of it until I can mock them up on the truck but it looks like locked isn't making their shocks in-house anymore. These fittings are fudged, and the top-cap is from a coilover. Looks like contracted work and so far I'm not impressed.
