Hello everyone! Newbie here. My dream wheels for my build are the SCS Ray 10’s (Brushed Bronze 16in). I’ve come to find out they’re quite difficult to obtain due to limited quantities & production Can anyone help me out with ways to get ahold of them please! I know it’s probably as simple as just waiting and getting lucky lol

Fuck s c s. They do this shit on purpose to make sure they always sell out. That’s how they keep demand high.

I agree. And I really hate to give them my money.. its a pain in the ass when you have the funds but they dont have shit in stock..and then life happens and you no longer have the funds.

I really don’t wanna be anything like a Tacoma F Boi and scs groupie..Seems like everyone has them now.. Tacoma Starter kit for all the IG kids taking pictures of their truck..

I only like the -38 offset.. only reason I’d go with them..

Devils advocate here... I love my SCS Ray 10s... stock problems are frustrating but they look great and hold up well on the trail. Also, every person I’ve spoken with at SCS is extremely helpful and friendly.

I don’t necessarily think it’s fair to bash them for building low quantities. They know they have a market of buyers, they make a good product, and they have good customer service. Maybe their buyers seek some kind of exclusivity and are willing to pay up for the look (I certainly did). Even if these buyers are “posers” their money is as green as everyone else’s.

    Truth

Ive purchased and built 2 Tacomas, 2 4runners, a FJ, and now 2 Tundras over the last 10 years. I've been too many dealerships for the trucks themselves and the parts to build them out. I can list multiple local dealers that were getting quarterly shipments of from S C S Set up essentially as a sustained order that they repeated to the point local dealers could at least guarantee me an order as long as I was willing to wait a few months if they had already ran out of stock.

So, @cvmfam95 your best bet would be to start reaching out to local dealerships to find one that is already getting orders from S C S.

Their wheels are great quality, the issue is they don't really build low quantities. It is a manufactured hype, driven by sales to 2nd party vendors, leaving trace product on hand for the general public. They are selling to both dealerships and then us. The dealerships make for a sustained and easy purchase order, less stock on hand, purchase set up ahead of time, continuous money flow with little to no risk. Those dealers will gladly sell them to us for a small mark up. Essentially a tax on "exclusivity", for something that really isn't exclusive. I see them weekly around here. Seeing FNs maybe once or twice a year. Both companies make some of the best wheels for our trucks, but the work in very different ways. One will essentially bend over backwards to make you happy, the other operates like a typical business. Hell, Dustin at FN is working on getting the Tundra guys 17s all while S C S is saying there's no interest.

Sorry, making this a bit off topic here.

    Workin' on it....
From a business operating standpoint, if they are operating fairly confidently that they will sell the majority of their stock in a short time frame and won't be overstocked with product they have a difficult time moving and overextended with their float or however they purchase cargo container(s) full of rims, it sounds like they are operating a well managed business with good cash flow.

Thanks for your input everyone! This has helped me a lot. Looks like I’ll be hopping on the phone reaching out to dealers like a mad man! I’m itching to get my build lifted and laced with new shoes!
