My apologies if this violates any of the CoC posting rules. I know in years past, I have seen posts by someone who works at a Toyota dealership, in the parts department, but I don't see any obvious such listings in the Vendors forum.

I am in need of a new (or maybe OEM refurb'd) brake master cylinder for my wife's 1998 Rav4. I have been cautioned that for brake / hydraulic systems, aftermarket parts can be notoriously "out of the box FAIL" so am looking to at least see if I can find an OEM part. On the parts.toyota.com web site, they do have the part for a 1998, but with automatic transmission. The part for manual trans is "Product Not Available'.

I'm hoping if I can find an actual dealership parts person here, they can help me either find the part, or tell me if there really is any difference between the auto vs manual transmission labelled part.

Part numbers I get from searching by VIN:
Manual trans - 4720142080 [Not Available]
Auto trans - 4720142070 [is available]

Feel free to PM me if you prefer.

    Thanks to all.

Manual master cylinders share fluid with the clutch fluid, usually its just a reservoir that's different with a port and a hose attached.
