Instaled my tom Wood's one piece today... Solved?

    Everything! I had a nasty rumble at 40mph... gone. the high frequency rumble at 60mph... gone. Money well spent! I can live with the risk of a output shaft bearing failure for this outcome. Sorry no picture-left the phone at the lake house last weekend, and won't be back until Friday. They are coming soon.

    Had mine on for 7 years and still no problems.
    If you load the bed or tow like I do a set of OME Dakars (or other brand) will be needed as the rear sagged down and driveshaft was rubbing in the tunnel under big loads only.
    Some of that old takeoff shutter was due to driveshaft angle change due to Tacomas weak rear springs. New mine came with 3 pack and dealer put on the 4 pack which after a few years sagged so went to Dakars and never sagged again - been on for like 6.5 years now.

    The rub you describe, was it on the carrier bearing mount? Or, did you take out the crossmember? Looks tight but in the playing around I did last evening I did not notice any contact. I do tow some, but added Headstrong AAL's, so maybe that will be enough.

    I left the carrier bearing mount and have the 3.5" diameter driveshaft and about 3/4 " clearance each side. The shaft was hitting the tunnel top/floor but don't remember exactly where been too long.

    There are many sites that allow you to try and calculate that speed but good luck resulting in a real-life answer.

    If you plan on really high speeds in a 4wd call TW and ask them to calculate the top speed but you will need all the facts of your vehicle first so read the article and get the length and angles etc plus your expectations. Tire and wheel size, gearing, and lift also a factor. They have different tubing size and types plus u-joints vs double cardan. I've seen carbon fiber ones on extreme HP drag vehicles but they have their own issues and high price.
