Hey all, Ive got a 2008 with 160 000km on it, and I just noticed my cv axle is leaking at the seal where it comes off the front diff. I've got a bit of vibration in the steering wheel and I've been meaning to do the front hubs/ bearings anyways, so I'm planning on pulling the cvs, putting in new seals and doing the bearings at the same time.

The CV axles look ok, some surface rust, so I was thinking I'd just pull the old boots, regrease em and put back the old cvs with new boots. Is there any value in putting in new CV axles as opposed to just new boots? Don't really want to be pulling em again in a year or 2.

Does that vibe got away in 4wd? If so, then replace the needle bearing in the front diff with the ecgs bushing. When replacing the seal, flush or just below flush. It'll leak otherwise.

Nope, vibration kicks in at sound 80 kmh, increases up to 110, 4x4 or not. I might just need a wheel balance... but at my mileage and age I figure its time for new bearings anyways, and the tires are on their way out so I wasn't planning on paying for a balance until I get new rubber.

Good advice on the seals, thanks.
